DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1877, Blohm+Voss has been part of the north German group of companies, Lürssen, since 2016. With the acquisition of Blohm+Voss, Lürssen entered into a long term relationship to strengthen its shipbuilding and ship repair portfolio.

At our Hamburg shipyard and throughout the world, we deliver turnkey solutions, time-critical repairs, conversions and maintenance services for any vessel 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week. Blohm+Voss is renowned for quality and reliability, delivering projects worldwide on time and in budget. We ensure this high level of service with continuous investment in our workforce, facilities and equipment.

Over the last years, Blohm+Voss has taken steps to further improve the shipyard's safety, quality, logistics and efficiency through various operational initiatives. As a new member of the Lürssen family, our ambition is to raise standards even higher and to ensure a good experience for our customers when engaging our services and facilities.

Our well-known shipyard includes one of the largest graving docks in northern Europe. Our outfitting quays have twelve cranes, and the equipment in our workshops includes various gantry cranes and lifting gallows. We have specialist machinery for tasks from milling to turning, pressing to grinding, and boring to cutting. The shipyard also provides office and studio facilities for project managers, design teams and other members of a vessel's team. Although our shipyard may cover a large area, our team is tight-knit and can handle the most complex projects working in cohesive synergy together. We are also able to draw upon the additional resources and facilities of our neighbouring sister shipyard, Norderwerft, located in the port of Hamburg.
